What to Expect

Filling Your Bucket for Total Health

what to expect

A good analogy of what chiropractic care can do for you is the bucket of water analogy. Your body represents the bucket and, like the bucket's ability to hold water, the water in the bucket represents the ability of your body to function. A bucket is only as good as its ability to hold water. Your body is only as good as its ability to function properly. Along with eating, sleeping, moving, thinking, etc. well, chiropractic offers a separate and distinct advantage to become a higher functioning person and filling your bucket. While doing those other activities right can fill your bucket, chiropractic tops off the water level in your bucket by directly intervening with the way your body coordinates vital processes like walking and breathing. When breathing and walking are more efficient, your body can use that surplus energy to do other stuff such as heal up inflammation and grow healthy tissue. You have a stronger bucket if you keep it full. Doing the wrong things for you takes the water out of your bucket and can even damage the bucket. How long does it take to get better? That depends on your water level and structural condition of your bucket.

Phase 1: Relief Care

If you are in pain when you come into Wayne Sport & Spine, our first objective is to help you reduce pain and start feeling better as soon as possible. How long that takes is dependent on the severity and duration you've had the health problem.

Phase 2: Restorative Care

During the restorative phase of chiropractic care, muscles and other tissues are allowed to heal more completely, which helps prevent further injury or pain. The goal of restorative chiropractic care is to help bring your body back to 100% functioning, allowing you to be better at being you.

Phase 3: Wellness Care

Once your body is functioning at a peak level, it is important to come in for periodic chiropractic adjustments to avoid further problems in the future and stay at your best. Usually, this phase of chiropractic care only requires a quick visit to the chiropractor once a month, based on your lifestyle and goals.

All of these phases are patient-led meaning that the patient has the power to continue care or not. Chiropractic can help you thrive your entire life, or you can use it just to survive pain. The choice is yours!
